Roles of Nakshatras or Lunar mansions in Jyotish or Vedic astrology ?
Nakshatra is also called the star group or the lunar mansion in Vedic Jyotish or astrology.
Nakshatras are generally 27 or 28 along the ecliptic on which earth moves around sun.
The names of nakshatras or Lunar mansions are connected to a prominent star or asterisms in the space.
As per the Holy Vedas “Kritika” nakshatra or lunar mansion is the starting point of Nakshatras or Lunar mansion.
Nakshatra (constellation) or lunar mansions are 27 or sometimes 28 in number dividing the ecliptic starting from the sign of Aries.
The start point of nakshatra is opposite to the start Chitra (birth star).
